Popular Korean Group MBLAQ’s first Japan visit to 800 people

Twenty-one days after the official anouncement of a May 4th Japanese debut, five member Korean idol boy band MBLAQ made their first visit to Japan in order to record and shoot for their jacket. Upon their arrival, 800 reporters and fans greeted them at the airport, to which leader Seungho responded with a smile, “We’ll work hard in Japan, so please support us!” Member Mir, who has been suffering from chronic backpain and was unable to attend, also commented, “Right now I’m resting, but next time I want to go meet everyone in tip-top physical condition!”
The group MBLAQ debuted in Korea with their mini album “JUST BLAQ” on October 14 of 2009 with leader Seungho, Joon, G.O, Cheondoong, and Mir. MBLAQ was produced my popular artist Bi (Rain), and were given the nickname of “Chicdol” (chic idol).
Their overwhelming dance performance and rap, combined with powerful vocals, also perviously seen from groups TVXQ and SNSD, helped them break through in the entertainment industry in Korea, winning awards such as Group Singer award and MNET’s best new group of the first half of 2010. As well, it has also been decided that after ther release of their Japanese album on May 4th (title undetermined), they will be holding lives in Osaka, Sapporo, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Tokyo, limited to CD purchasers.

Annoucement about Mir’s Japan visit cancellation

On February 21st (Tue) MBLAQ will visit Japan for a recording, but the scheduled member Mir, due of his worsened low back pain, he could not visit Japan this time. Mir apologized for being unable to greet everyone with all 5 members.

It’s been decided that the Japan debut in May, I’m so excited with it, being able to meet with everyone, so nervous.

MBLAQ & Nishino Kana to perform at VMAJ Pre-Event in Tokyo

MTV’s music video awards, “MTV VMAJ 2011”, will take place on June 25^th at Makuhari Event Hall in Chiba.
This year, MTV VMAJ is celebrating their 10^th appearance since 2002. The annual awards show takes votes from viewers and gives awards to those with the highest number of votes. There are appearances from domestic and international guests and the artists have live performances. All nominees, MCs,artists and guests will be announced as they are known.

Furthermore, “MTV VMAJ” will hold a pre-event on May 1^st at The Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo. The participating artists are songstress Nishino Kana and MBLAQ. Other artists will be announced later as they are selected.
General admission tickets will begin going on sale on April 3^rd. Subscribers to Cable TV’s “J:COM” will get to apply first from February 25^th to March 6^th.

About me falling down today at the MTV festival, I was set up with safety equipment
before falling off .. It is our first stage concept
We created this to show the meaning of something like being renewed and born again
after failing .. Thankfully I landed safely .

Lee Joon falls off stage during performance...Lee Joon stage accident explained “it was a surprise performance”

It has been revealed that Lee Joon’s stage accident was for performance purposes. Lee Joon fell off the stage while performing ‘Oh Yeah’ at the MTV Daum Music Fest on February 19.
MBLAQ’s agency told Newsen through a phone interview, “It was a kind of performance. Looks like many people were shocked, Lee Joon is fine”. Regarding his diagnose of cochlea disorder last week, they said that “he has gotten a lot better”.
During the performance, Lee Joon faced the audience, spread both his arms wide open and disappeared from the stage. The performance had to be put on hold temporarily after Lee Joon’s stage accident when the medical team arrived. After that, music videos were played and many fans were very worried.
However, it was later revealed that it was just a kind of performance when Lee Joon reappeared later for the next performance.

MBLAQ’s Thunder wishes to meet rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon Jae

MBLAQ’s Thunder recently revealed that he would like to meet Korea’s rising star in rhythmic gymnastics, Son Yeon Jae (16).

During this week’s recording of KBS 1TV’s “Imagination Arcade“, when Thunder was asked who he would like to meet if given the opportunity, he replied, “I want to meet Son Yeon Jae.”

He continued, “I don’t usually watch TV, but the only thing I can do (as a fan) is make time to watch Son Yeon Jae’s performances. I became a fan of hers ever since the Olympics.”

The full episode will be broadcast this coming February 19th.

Korea’s popular 5-membered group MBLAQ, will debut in Japan

5 members Korean vocal and dance group, MBLAQ will debut in Japan on May 4.

MBLAQ produced by Rain (Bi), debuted in Korea in 2009. Their work was released and ranked number one across domestic (Korean) music charts in 2010, following DBSK and SNSD, in the category of “Korean Group Singer Entertainment Awards”, and has proved to be widely popular. Members have been in commercials, drama, as well as movies.

Details regarding their debut in Japan on May 4 will be announced later. Prior to their debut, their first event will be on May 1, which will be held at Tokyo National Yoyogi Stadium for the “MI CARD Presents MTV × LaLa TV VMAJ 2011 Pre-Show”.

In addition, there will be CD sales, fan events in five different locations within Japan. Their first step of participation in Japan will be presented through this event.

MBLAQ Repackaged Album and Follow up song Promotion

Hello.
This is JTune Camp.
After wrapping up MBLAQ’s Stay promotion, they are scheduled to start promotions for the follow-up track starting from the 24th.
On February 22nd, MBLAQ’s complete 1st album BLAQ Style 3D Edition will be released.
With existing and follow-up tracks included, the album will have a total of 16 tracks and it will also include a DVD of private making videos as well as the music video.

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon caught in controversy over child sex offenders comment during debate

A statement MBLAQ’s Lee Joon made several months ago on Mnet’s “Kim Sooro’s Special Classfor Prestigious Universities” has caused a controversy amongst netizens.

Last September, the members of MBLAQ were asked to debate the topic of the ethics behind chemically castrating child sex offenders.

Lee Joon began by arguing on the side opposing chemical castrations by explaining, “Imagine that I committed a crime like this. I know I won’t, but on accident. And then I get married. (After you serve) and become a free person, it’s so sad for the person to not be able to live a happy life because of the chemical castration.”

Member G.O. retorted, “Do you 

really think that the victim can continue to live a happy life after the attack? You’re saying that the rapist should be able to get married and live a happy life?”

Visibly surprised, Lee Joon switched over to the side supporting chemical castrations and stated, “Sexoffenders really do ruin the entire life of one person.”

A representative of J. Tune Camp stated on February 14th, “At the time of the debate, Lee Joon was put on the opposing team. In order to fulfill his role, it seems what he said has brought about misunderstanding. He did not state it in defense of child sex offenders.”

Netizens who discovered the episode commented, “He said it without any thought,” “Even if he’s on the opposing side of the debate, he said it without reserve,” “Since he changed his position, he probably didn’t mean any harm with what he said, just said it without any thought,” and “Lee Joon is not supporting rapists, he is simply making a statement for the sake of the debate.”

MBLAQ reveal that they're PLASTIC SURGERY FREE

While guesting on “TrendE,” the members of MBLAQ declared themselves to be a ‘naturally handsome boyband’ that did not undergo any cosmetic surgery. did not undergone any cosmetic surgery.
Their make-up artist praised, “Out of all the idol groups out there today, MBLAQ is probably the only idol group that is naturally handsome.”
Leader Seungho joked, “Now that we’re a year into our debut, I think it’s time to get some plastic surgery done.” When asked to choose a member that he thought needed plastic surgery, Seungho teasingly replied, “Mir. Despite being the maknae, he has a lot of wrinkles, which worries me.”

Sandara Park says “Dog poop, reply well!” to younger brother MBLAQ’s Thunder

2NE1′s Sandara Park appeared on KBS 2TV’s Entertainment Weekly on the 29th. During an interview in the middle of a CF filming that day, she expressed her disappointment towards her younger brother, Thunder, from MBLAQ. She said, “My brother, Cheondung, doesn’t reply my text messages even for a short while”.
Sandara also added, “Dog poop (gae ddoong, Cheondung’s nickname) ah, please reply big noona’s messages. I’ve told you this before, this is the second time. I pray that you’ll be healthy and your new album will do well.”

MBLAQ Thunder’s intential broadcast accident “Didn’t dance for 2 seconds”

MBLAQ Thunder revealed the truth about his broadcast accident during a live show. 
Thunder made a shocking confession on KBS 1TV’s ‘Imagination Arcade’ when he appeared on the 29th, “I have a timid personality by nature and I was very stressed. I came up with a method and disappeared alone. I went to watch movies during practice, I fooled the members and told them I was in the toilet”.

Besides that, he also confessed, “There was once I didn’t dance during the middle of a performance for about 2 seconds”. But the other guests who appeared commented, “No one would know the truth about you not dancing other than yourself”, causing an erupted laughter on the set.
Meanwhile, the other guests on the show were Let’s Go Dream Team member Lee Chang Myeong, F.Cuz’s Jinon and ZE:A’s Siwan.

Siblings Dara and Thunder tackle their first Lunar New Year interview together

The older Park sibling, Sandara, arrived 10 minutes late, but she immediately waved “Hi~” to her younger brother Thunder upon entering the room. Thunder, who was fixing his hanbok in front of a mirror, greets her with, “Oh, you came.”
And then a brief moment of awkward silence hit.
Since it’s their first-ever ’sibling interview’, the two immediately began repeating, “How awkward,” while quickly explaining, “We grew up in the Philippines so we never had the opportunity to give New Year’s bows. This year, we’ll be bowing to our parents and CEOs.”

Sandara and Thunder are members of Korea’s two top idols, 2NE1 and MBLAQ. They’re also the most well-known sibling idols in the industry as well. What’s interesting to note is that despite the fame surrounding their relationship, this is the first time the two are taking part in an interview as just siblings.
“I’m seeing his face for the first time in a month,” Sandara calmly states.  Thunder adds, “It’s kind of awkward seeing her at work, since I’m used to seeing her at home.” His older sister agreed: “At home, I’m used to us wearing pajamas and not being so dolled up, so meeting like this is quite awkward.”
Because they both have busy schedules and are living away in dorms, they’re lucky to be able to meet once a month. Their promotion cycles have also never overlapped, so they rarely get to meet outside at work.  The first time they met on stage was at the SBS “Gayo Daejun” last year.
Despite the distance, they claim to be closer than anyone else. Sandara revealed that she constantly monitors for him, and sends him advice and support through text messages. She also listens to MBLAQ’s CDs during car rides, and would always visit MBLAQ’s waiting room with flowers on special days, like for their comeback.
Speaking of thoughtful, Sandara handed a new bag to her brother during the interview. “I bought it for you while I went shopping a few days ago,” she explained.
In comparison to her outgoing and four-dimensional personality, Thunder is a lot quieter and calmer.   Sandara revealed, “Whenever I send him text messages after I monitor his broadcast performances, he always replies back with one letter: ‘k.’”
Thunder retorted, “But still, I reply a bit longer to Jihoon-hyung (Rain).”
Sandara continued, “He’s not the type to joke around, but since he’s the maknae, he has a tendency to behave like a baby. Still, he’s become a lot more mature lately. Our other sibling, Park Durami (24), often says that ‘our maknae has matured.’”
When asked to rate 2NE1 as singers, Thunder lived up to Sandara’s criticisms of him being too quiet by answering, “For a singer, music is the most basic foundation. I love 2NE1’s music.”
In comparison, Sandara rattled off a bunch of compliments for her baby brother’s group. “MBLAQ has a really ‘zzang’ visual.  I think they’re the most handsome out of all of the teams promoting right now.  The members are all so good at dancing, piano, and even singing.”
The photoshoot had the two wearing hanboks, and Sandara revealed that it was the first time for the two to wear hanboks in a long, long while. “We lived in the Philippines when we were younger so we never had the chance to wear one. I do remember wearing it in the first or second year of elementary school.“  Thunder added, “We probably wore it when we were babies.”
His sister continued, “In the Philippines, Christmas is a big holiday and fireworks are used for the New Year. For the Lunar New Year, our family would just eat rice cake soup, and we don’t have relatives in the Philippines, so we don’t have memories of performing the New Year’s bow.  Even when we came to Korea, all we did was eat rice cake soup and watch the Lunar New Year programs on TV. We came to Korea in 2007, but this year, I’m planning to bow to not only my family, but to my CEO as well.”
Fortunately, the two will be meeting more often this year, as both of their respective groups are preparing for their Japanese advancements.
2NE1 is currently re-recording their Korean hits into Japanese, and will soon be working on their album jacket and music video recordings. Once the holiday ends, they’ll be focusing on their Japanese activities until March.
Sandara shed some light on 2NE1’s plans by stating, “We were determined to ‘fight as rookies.’  Since we’re not pretty or cute, we have to cater to a specific fanbase. We’re hoping to win with a style of music like ‘Fire‘.”
Meanwhile, MBLAQ will be knocking on the doors of the Japanese market this April, and although detailed schedules haven’t been revealed, they’re planning to lend their support to the new Hallyu wave that is gathering force overseas.
The siblings concluded their interview with a heartwarming message for one another.
Thunder stated, “Like you’ve always done, I trust nuna to do her best.  I believe that you’ll meet great results in your Japanese advancement if you work as hard as you are doing now. Nuna, you’re always asking for me to introduce you to a man, but I don’t know any man worthy of you.  I hope that our family can live healthily and happily.”
“I know that I’m not at the point in my career where I can act with freedom, but I’ll be working harder than ever, so don’t worry about me.  When I succeed and become a big singer, I’ll take care of you then.”
Sandara said, “Thunder, I know that you’re quiet and don’t express yourself, but I’m touched all the same whenever I feel that you’re thinking about a lot of things and taking care of our mother.  I’m so proud of you for having grown into an innocent and upright man, without going down the wrong path and without causing trouble.”
“You must be really tired now that you’ve started your promotions, so make sure you take the vitamins mother asked you to take and eat all of your meals.  One advice I want to give you as your senior is a repeat of what I told you when you first debuted: ‘Bow/greet everyone well.’”

MBLAQ’s Mir injured his waist

Group MBLAQ member Mir recently injured his waist.

MBLAQ’s agency J.Tune Camp said, “Because of Mir’s back pains he had to go to the hospital on the 7th” and added, “for the time being he will be taking a rest.”

“Mir has always had a bad back, but because of his busy schedule it seemed to have been pushed to the limit.” They promised that will be attending constant therapy for his back.
Mir is currently taking a break while going from the dorm to the hospital. The MBLAQ members will be continuing their promotional activities as with 4 members for the time being.
On Mnet ‘M Countdown’ on the 4th, MBLAQ will be performing on stage as a 4-group member. A J.Tune Camp representative stated, “Although Mir’s injury is not that bad, after we see the result we will decide on his promotion activities.”
